This article talks about the awful shooting in El Paso Texas where a 21-year-old white supremacist drove over 600 miles to walked into a Walmart and began shooting. He ends up killing 22 people and injuring over a few dozen. This article also talks about the history of Mexico and Texas and the push and pull Mexican Americans struggled with when news laws were created and pass. When Texas declared independence as a republic in 1836 Mexican Texans who lived in the area was targeted by new Americans that moved into the area. Americans used violence and displaced people to take their land. This article goes on by giving examples of how White Americans took over pushing Mexican Texans out and making Texas their home.
